A digital SIM needs a careful handover
Installation, activation and transferring a number are three different tasks.

Confirm the precise handset.
Use the full device model and regional variant. A phone can support eSIM in general but still need a provider-specific installation method. Check that it is unlocked where necessary, updated and connected to a reliable internet connection before starting.
Keep a recovery route.
Make sure you can access the official account without relying solely on the SIM being replaced. An activation QR code, one-time security message or eSIM confirmation code is private. Do not share it with an independent information service.
Do not delete first.
Read the provider’s replacement instructions before removing a working profile. Moving an eSIM to another device may require a fresh profile. Reusing an old QR code can fail. If activation stalls, note the error and follow the provider’s recovery steps instead of repeatedly resetting the phone.
Test each function.
After activation, check outgoing and incoming calls, a normal text and mobile data with Wi-Fi disabled. On a dual-SIM phone, verify the default line for calls and data. Keep the old account information until any number transfer is confirmed complete.
Confirm before acting
