Build a reliable prepaid routine
Credit, bundles and recurring payments need separate attention.

Know what the payment does.
A top-up may add balance while a bundle supplies time-limited allowances. Automatic top-up and automatic bundle renewal are different settings. Check both rather than assuming one controls the other.
Keep the number active.
Read the provider’s inactivity and minimum-use conditions. An emergency or spare phone can lose service if left unattended for too long. Remaining credit alone may not satisfy the requirement; confirm qualifying activity officially.
Watch the renewal.
Record the renewal day, payment method and what happens if payment fails. Check whether unused allowances roll over and when any retained data expires. Do not assume every prepaid service has the same rules.
Prepare for travel.
Check whether the current bundle supports the intended destination and whether balance is needed for excluded activity. Roaming and calling abroad from the UK are separate uses. Confirm the terms before leaving.
Confirm before acting
