Make the mobile check before the journey
Destination, agreement and type of use all change the answer.

Identify the destination precisely.
Check the actual country and any territories, not just the region. Cruise ships and aircraft can connect to non-terrestrial networks with different rules. Consider disabling mobile roaming when it is not needed.
Read the account entitlement.
Find the plan-specific country list, fair-use allowance and any activation or pass requirements. A UK unlimited allowance does not mean unlimited overseas data. Long stays may have different conditions from short trips.
Set the correct line.
On a dual-SIM device, check which line handles mobile data and whether automatic data switching is enabled. A travel eSIM may be data-only and may not receive ordinary calls or texts to the UK number.
Plan for recovery.
Keep official contact routes and account access available without exposing credentials. If the device is lost, contact the provider promptly through its secure process. We cannot suspend a SIM, issue a replacement or authorise overseas access.
Confirm before acting
